“Big Wayne” Hayslett from Charlottesville takes the prize for catching the biggest striper(45″) to date for the fall season aboard the Bay Quest today. We jigged and trolled for the smaller fish and then went for the big guns with the umbrella rigs. We got our limit of schoolies, as well as, our limit on big fish also. Since it was such a pretty day I took Marion back out after Big Wayne and his group got back to the dock. It was flat calm, 78 degrees, and just as soon as we got our rigs out we had five poles with fish on. It was so much going on for a while that I didn’t have time to take many photos but it sure was fun seeing my better half crank in those fish!
If you want to get in on the action, I still have a few slots open for this Friday’s (Nov. 20th) Open Boat day at $100/person but you need to let me know as soon as possible.
If you were waiting for the big fish to arrive before booking your trip, you better get your charter on the books now at the lower price before I have to move down the Bay and into the ocean. I hope to be able to stay in the Bay and leave from Coan River Marina in Lottsburg until about Christmas before I have to move the Bay Quest down to Rudee’s Inlet in Virginia Beach. Just contact me via email or phone if you want a list of available days. Capt. Dave
