Plenty of Bluefish

July 25th, 2010

We have had to troll to keep moving to get some relief from the heat.  Been catching plenty of Bluefish with some keeper Stripers.  Cooler temps are on the way but hot fishing is here to stay!

More Blues and Striped Bass

July 20th, 2010

Melinda Clifton(in pink) celebrated her birthday fishing on the Bay Quest. Happy Birthday, Melinda and hope you have many more!!

Long-time friends, Mary Lu & Ike Coleman, with family.

My daughter-in-law, Jouette (on left), with friends enjoyed a day on the Bay.

The past several trips we chummed and trolled for Blues and Stripers.  Luckily most days we’ve either had a little breeze or just having the boat moving when we trolled made it not so bad so far as the heat.

A Picture Is Worth A THOUSAND Words!

July 12th, 2010

In the last several days we’ve caught more sharks, rockfish, croaker, bluefish and today we caught some citation red drum!  August looks like it’s going to be a slow month for bookings if I can’t find somebody who enjoys being on the river and having a lot of fun.  Jacob and I will certainly try to give you your monies worth!

46" Release Citation Red Drum

William Gets Help From His Father After Reeling in This Red Drum. What a memory!

Greg Allison, Family & Friends took home their limit on Rockfish(Striped Bass).

My neighbor, Susan Raynes, with First Mate Jacob's assistance shows off the biggest shark of the day. Fried Shark nuggets are better than chicken!

Jennifer Allison shows off a nice size croaker.

Summer Fun.

July 9th, 2010

This past week I have been leaving from Horn Harbor Marina in Mathews County and going down to the Bay Bridge Tunnel looking for Cobia.  Unfortunately, I’ve only caught one Cobia but have had some action catching other species.  I’ll bring the boat back up the Bay and will begin fishing again July 11 from Lottsburg, my home port.  The flounder below was caught fishing out of Lottsburg the day I moved the boat so I’m hoping to find more of those when I get back up.  I have plenty of time available so please contact me if you want to go fishing.

Tight Lines,

Capt. Dave

Cooler weather but fishing still hot.

July 2nd, 2010

Still a variety of fish…red drum, bluefish, rockfish, and bottomfish (croaker, perch, & spot).  I did all types of fishing this week depending on what the groups wanted to go after.  I am moving on down the bay tomorrow night to fish for cobia, sharks, ray, sea mullet, flounder and bluefish.  I still have some Tuesday,July 6th and Saturday, July 10 open for one of those charters.

SOME PRIME WEEKEND DAYS STILL AVAILABLE.

The Red Drum Have Arrived.

June 22nd, 2010

This past week we started catching Red Drum, in addition, to Bluefish and Croaker.  Take a look at the sizes!  The Drum are typically only here  for about 4 – 6 weeks so don’t put off booking if you want to get in on this action.

Tight lines,

Capt. Dave

COBIA DAYS STILL OPEN: JULY 6 & 10.

June 16th, 2010

I am moving the boat down to the lower bay to go for big  fighting Cobia in July. I’ll be keeping the boat at Horn Harbor Marina in Mathews County & going out around the Bay Bridge Tunnel.  They are running 30 to 50+ pounds and each person can keep 1 fish.  If you want a trophy to take home, as well as, some good meat this will be a charter you would enjoy. We’ll be catching shark and rays mixed in with the cobia to make a lot of action.  (Cost:$650 for up to 6 people and $75 for each extra person over the 6.)  I only do this one time a year so don’t miss out on this experience.
